Discovery is 1-8 against the Wildcats since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Discovery Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the McKeel Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Discovery has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while the Wildcats will arrive with seven straight victories.
On Friday, Discovery suffered a rough 30-8 defeat at the hands of the Dragons. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Discovery has scored all season.
Meanwhile, McKeel Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Vikings on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 38-33 victory.
Discovery has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for McKeel Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9.
Discovery was dealt a bruising 53-12 loss at the hands of the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Discovery was down 32-8.
