In what's become a running theme this season, the Grassfield Grizzlies gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 63-20 victory over Great Bridge at home. Given Grassfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Great Bridge is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grassfield was led to victory by Lauren Priester and Amaya Fisher. Priester scored 15 points along with six steals, while Fisher scored 21 points along with four steals. Priester is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Dyes, who scored six points along with two steals.
Grassfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Great Bridge, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
Grassfield will challenge Green Run at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Great Bridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
