Basketball Recap: Lewis Angapak Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Emma Friendly and Rhiannon Nicholai

If Lewis Angapak was feeling good fresh off their 81-29 takedown of Kongiganak on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lewis Angapak Blue Jays fell 61-53 to the Chief Paul Memorial Falcons on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Jays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-42 last Saturday.

Rhiannon Nicholai and Emma Friendly certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Nicholai made all 6 shots she took racking up 17 points, while Friendly made all 7 shots she took for 14 points. Nicholai's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Shalisa McDalton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lewis Angapak's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Chief Paul Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Lewis Angapak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-15 victory against Kongiganak on the 25th. As for Chief Paul Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-34 loss against Lewis Angapak on the 25th.
