Mountain Range has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Prairie View Thunderhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Mountain Range suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Fairview at home and fell 65-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Mountain Range has suffered against Fairview since January 9, 2018.
Despite their defeat, Mountain Range saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bella Lucero, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Josieraye Running Wolf was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Prairie View's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Legacy. Prairie View has not had much luck with Legacy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Mountain Range's defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Prairie View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Mountain Range ended up a good deal behind Prairie View when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 52-35. Can Mountain Range avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
