The third road matchup was the charm for New Foundations, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Liguori Academy by a score of 56-45 on Friday. Given New Foundations' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Liguori Academy is ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Naiem Scott-Allen and Rydee Miller certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Scott-Allen scored 15 points, while Miller scored 11 points. The contest was Scott-Allen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daviel Calderon, who scored six points.
New Foundations' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2. As for Liguori Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
New Foundations will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against The City School at 4:00 p.m. As for Liguori Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bethel Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bethel Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 back in December of 2023.
