After flying high against the Raytown Bluejays on Wednesday, the Southern Boone Eagles came back down to earth. Southern Boone took a serious blow against Rolla on Thursday, falling 76-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southern Boone has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylee Dodson, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Akaela Caquelin, who scored 15 points.
Southern Boone has fallen quite a ways from their 22-11 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Rolla, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Southern Boone will head out on the road to face off against Hermann at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hermann is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. Rolla won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grain Valley at 4:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Grain Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
