The St. Francis Indians''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 50-12 victory over Wheatland-Grinnell. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
St. Francis found their leader in underclassman Lucas Raile, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 64 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Layn Todd, who threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
St. Francis' victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 3-5. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Wheatland-Grinnell, Logan/Palco, and Wilson. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
St. Francis will head out on the road to face off against Sylvan-Lucas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Weskan at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weskan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
