The Hug Hawks suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Truckee by a score of 32-29. Hug has struggled against Truckee recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Hug's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Taliyah Henderson, who scored nine points, and Andrea Trujillo who scored nine points.
Truckee was led to victory by Emma Jones and Sophia Killian. Jones scored 11 points, while Killian scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Killian scored 15 or more points.
Hug's loss was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.2 points per game. As for Truckee, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hug will square off against North Valleys at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valleys has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Truckee, Truckee and South Tahoe will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in South Tahoe's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
