The Ontonagon Gladiators can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They strolled past Dollar Bay with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. The win was just what Ontonagon needed coming off of a 78-29 defeat in their prior match.
Despite the loss, Dollar Bay had strong showings from Adelyn Swain, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Evelyn Moilanen, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Swain is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played.
Ontonagon's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Dollar Bay, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Ontonagon will challenge L'Anse at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dollar Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnston at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Johnston and Dollar Bay are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
