Weslaco is 7-1 against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Weslaco Panthers will welcome the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Weslaco comes in on three and Pharr-San Juan-Alamo on 14.

Weslaco's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Edinburg North.

Meanwhile, everything went Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's way against Economedes on Tuesday as Pharr-San Juan-Alamo made off with an 11-1 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo got a great performance from Nikki Jo Hernandez as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo let Arianna Lugo and Aubrey Garza run wild. Lugo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Garza fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most home runs Garza has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arieanna Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in ten consecutive contests.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs. As for Weslaco, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Weslaco beat Pharr-San Juan-Alamo 10-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Weslaco have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pharr-San Juan-Alamo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
