Basketball Recap: Orange Grove Has No Trouble Against Robstown

Orange Grove came into Saturday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Robstown Cottonpickers 62-39 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bulldogs have posted since November 26th.

Robstown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erasmo Garza, who posted 11 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Garza is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Ramon, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points and five steals.

Orange Grove's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Robstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Orange Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-51 defeat against Calallen on the 17th. Robstown and Karnes City will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
