Baseball Recap: Hobgood Charter Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Hobgood Charter's offense. They lost 12-0 to the Ocracoke Dolphins on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hobgood Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MASON MILLS, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

With the loss, Hobgood Charter broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Ocracoke, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hobgood Charter will challenge Mattamuskeet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.55 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ocracoke, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against East Carteret at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
