Espanola Valley is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Pojoaque Valley a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Espanola Valley Sundevils will be playing at home against the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes at 3:00 p.m. Espanola Valley has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Leah Vigil and Aliya Rael-Lopez did some serious damage despite the final result: Vigil went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Rael-Lopez went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aria Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Pojoaque Valley posted their closest victory since April 20, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Taos 20-18. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Lilah Herrera was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Romero, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Pojoaque Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.4.
Pojoaque Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-16 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Espanola Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
