Leah Vigil and Aliya Rael-Lopez did some serious damage despite the final result: Vigil went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Rael-Lopez went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Lilah Herrera was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Romero, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Pojoaque Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.4.
Pojoaque Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-16 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Espanola Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
