The Caldwell Redskins will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Barnesville Shamrocks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caldwell will be strutting in after a victory while Barnesville will be coming in after a defeat.
Caldwell is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Frontier. The Redskins put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-4 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Redskins have posted against the Cougars since March 30, 2022.

Makayla Mumaw
| 03/21/26 @ Frontier | 4 |
| 04/12/25 vs The Linsly School | 11 |
Makayla Mumaw made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Breighlee Moracco, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Mattie Hessson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Barnesville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Monroe Central on Saturday, falling 13-2. Shamrocks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Seminoles since Saturday.
Like Caldwell, Barnesville also got a great game from a two-way player: Ella Betts. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Betts was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Emma Swan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Caldwell came out on top in a nail-biter against Barnesville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Shamrocks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
