Basketball Recap: Shelbyville Skates Past Beech Grove with Ease

Shelbyville's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Beech Grove Hornets 67-39. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Shelbyville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Claxton, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 23 points and six rebounds. Claxton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Mar Nicholson was another key player, going 8-for-9 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Beech Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was TyQuan Lee, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Bubby O'Kelley, who posted six points.

Shelbyville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Beech Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will host Delta at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beech Grove, they will square off against Triton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
