After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverdale, Battle Ground Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Lawson Lightning with a sharp 17-2 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eily Wolfe made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellery Baisden, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Gracie Hollis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Battle Ground Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Battle Ground Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Lawson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battle Ground Academy will take on Columbia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lawson, they will challenge Pope John Paul II at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
