The Shoals Christian Flame waltzed into their matchup Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Waterloo. Given Shoals Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Waterloo is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 33 points, 14 rebounds, and ten blocks. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Shoals Christian's points. Abby Owens was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and four blocks.
Shoals Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Waterloo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Shoals Christian will take on Scotts Hill in a holiday battle at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at. Waterloo will be home for the holidays to greet Vina at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Vina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
