Monte Vista's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Julian McMahan, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns. Jacob Shehata was in the mix as well, providing Monte Vista with two touchdowns.
Justin Underwood had an outrageously good game for Clayton Valley Charter as he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Hayezon Jackson also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Monte Vista now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Monte Vista will be playing at home against De La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. De La Salle is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they will square off against California at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (California is ranked 88th, while Clayton Valley Charter is ranked 98th).
