Baseball Game Preview: White Deer Bucks vs. Booker Kiowas

For the second straight game, White Deer will face off against Booker. The Bucks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kiowas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. White Deer has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Booker will come in with six straight wins.

White Deer came up short against Booker on Tuesday, falling 14-2.

For Booker's part, Marco Flores and Chase Nelson made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Flores tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Nelson tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Flores has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Flores scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Nelson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Booker got a massive performance out of Brayland Gonzales, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Gonzales a new career-high in doubles (two). Julian Rosales was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Booker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Deer only posted an OBP of .263.

Booker pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for White Deer, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. White Deer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Booker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
