The Russell Red Devils's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over Lewis County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Russell also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Russell found their leader in underclassman Elijah Neel, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Fleming, who scored 11 points.
Russell is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Lewis County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Russell will face off against Elliott County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis County on the road again on Monday and play against Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
