Honaker pushed their score all the way to 62, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Carroll County by a score of 65-62. Honaker's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Honaker's loss came about despite a quality game from Kathryn Jessee, who scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds. Jessee scored a full 43.5% of Honaker's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tailor Nolley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Tennessee scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Morristown-Hamblen East still came out on top. Morristown-Hamblen East walked away with a 67-59 win over Tennessee.
Morristown-Hamblen East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Harmony Sullivan out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Sullivan's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Hall, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Their wins bumped Honaker to 3-1 and Carroll County to 3-0.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Honaker and Morristown-Hamblen East are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Honaker hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 63.8 points per game. It's a different story for Morristown-Hamblen East, though, as they've been averaging only 57.6 per game.
