This season hasn't been kind to the Jacksonville Crimsons, who are still winless after their ninth game. Their  rough  62-37 loss to North Mac  on Monday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Jacksonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 524th, while North Mac is ranked 208th).
 Jacksonville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Maressa Williams, who  scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was  Laila Cook, who  scored 10 points.
 Jacksonville's loss was  their third straight on the road, which  bumped their record down to 0-9. As for North Mac, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacksonville will take on Granite City at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Granite City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for North Mac, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Greenville at 7:00  p.m.
