The Brandon Eagles lost against the Leto Falcons back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Brandon fell 50-41 to Leto. Brandon has struggled against Leto recently, as their match on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Brandon had strong showings from Julia Castany, who scored 19 points, and Sofia Caserta, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Elisha Williams, who scored five points.
Leto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was De'Layla Brass out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Brass scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizbeth Rivera, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Leto, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.
Brandon will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandon is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Leto, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chamberlain at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Leto is coming into the contest with ten straight victories on the road, meaning Chamberlain will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
