Watchung Hills Regional is 2-8 against Bridgewater-Raritan since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. MAX EDER tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on STEFANO DiGERONIMO, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was JACOB JACONSKI, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.
Watchung Hills Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bridgewater-Raritan entered their tilt with North Hunterdon on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 5-1.
Bridgewater-Raritan also got a great performance from Jack Lanum as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Lanum has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, JR Rosado was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Conner Price was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Watchung Hills Regional's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Bridgewater-Raritan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Bridgewater-Raritan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Watchung Hills Regional has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447.
