The Shaw Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Chattahoochee County with a sharp 59-33 victory on Saturday. Given Shaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Chattahoochee County is ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shaw can attribute much of their success to Trey Adkins , who scored 19 points. Adkins also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Dorian Head was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
The win makes it two in a row for Shaw and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Chattahoochee County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shaw will take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Chattahoochee County and Taylor County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
