The New Life Academy Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against Bethel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though New Life Academy has not done well against the Lions recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. New Life Academy came out on top against the Lions by a score of 53-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Life Academy.
New Life Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dontrel Lee, who scored 29 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Dunn, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, Bethel Christian entered their tilt with the Eagles with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Bethel Christian was the clear victor by a 52-32 margin over the Eagles. Bethel Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
New Life Academy pushed their record up to 18-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Bethel Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
New Life Academy strolled past the in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Life Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
