The Mar Vista Mariners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 80-42 loss at the hands of Olympian. Mar Vista has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olympian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Walker, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Sammell Humphries, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Mar Vista has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Olympian, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mar Vista will take on the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mariners in California (the Titans are ranked 310th, while the Mariners are ranked 714th). As for Olympian, they will be playing at home against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
