King's Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Holy Cross Lancers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
King's Christian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over The Christian Academy. King's Christian pushed the score to 55-34 by the end of the third, a deficit The Christian Academy had little chance of recovering from.
King's Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jason Brice, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tysaun Bruce, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Sunday. They slipped by Pitman 72-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Holy Cross' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmanuel Doku, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Doku is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. Samir Wellington was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
King's Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Holy Cross, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.
King's Christian was taken down by Holy Cross 71-20 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for King's Christian, Donovan Fey (who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
