Softball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Takes a Loss

Notre Dame Prep lost against Mount de Sales Academy back in May of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Notre Dame Prep fell just short of Mount de Sales Academy by a score of 7-6. Notre Dame Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lea Neff put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ryan Owenson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. Lucy Myers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Notre Dame Prep now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mount de Sales Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep will welcome St. John's Catholic Prep at 4:00 p.m. on April 2. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against McDonogh at 4:00 p.m.
