Eastview actually scored more points across those five sets (108-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-27, 10-25, 25-21, 15-11.
Despite their loss, Eastview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tizita Getman, who had 15 digs and three aces, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most aces Getman has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ava Montanez, who had 17 digs and two aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Eastview was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive matches.
Mayer Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Eastview, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-16.
