Brownsburg came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 66-65 photo finish over the Avon Orioles. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Orioles, too.

Leading Brownsburg to victory were Avery Gordon and Elle Mcculloch. Gordon dropped a double-double on 28 points and 19 rebounds, while Mcculloch went 5 of 11 on her way to 17 points. Mcculloch is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Steers, who posted seven points.

Brownsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Avon lost, don't look at Aniah Smith. Despite the final result, she went 14 of 30 on her way to 33 points along with seven assists and five boards. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Thompson, who had 14 points and three steals.

Brownsburg is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Avon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Brownsburg will welcome Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Brownsburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Lawrence North likes a good challenge. As for Avon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Silver Creek at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
