Marion County scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the East Carter Raiders by a score of 68-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (59), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Kinsley Rutledge had a dynamite game for East Carter, going 7 of 13 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Savannah Adams, who posted 15 points.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for East Carter, they moved to 6-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Marion County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Casey County at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for East Carter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-47 victory against Adair County on the 29th.
