A Region III recap Sept. 26, 2012
DC Caldwell of Great Falls ran for the longest rushing play in A Region III this season against Buford last week. Caldwell scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 117 on the day as his team bested the Yellowjackets.
Lamar moved up to 82 from 115 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Silver Foxes climbed the ranks as a result of a 44-27 win over Chesterfield.
Great Falls' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Clarke Schofield threw for 23 yards and Omar Dean had 26 yards receiving.
Great Falls' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Schofield has thrown for 329 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Dean has seven catches for 92 yards. Caldwell leads the league in rushing with 346 yards.
A big matchup in A Region III this week will be when McBee takes on Lewisville. As it stands, the Panthers are in fourth, while the Lions are in first.
Lewisville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Eau Claire, 49-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the Will Mitchell's team.
