If The Round Rock Dragons were feeling good off their 48-7 takedown of the Cedar Ridge Raiders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Round Rock and Vista Ridge were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Round Rock suffered an agonizing 21-20 defeat. Round Rock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vista Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Round Rock still got an impressive performance from Mason Cochran, who rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Grant Anderson, who rushed for 92 yards, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Vista Ridge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kaden Dees.
Round Rock has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Vista Ridge, their win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Round Rock will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Vista Ridge, they will face off against Dripping Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dripping Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vista Ridge in Texas (Dripping Springs is ranked 36th, while Vista Ridge is ranked 139th).
