Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Mabton's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Mabton lost to Sunnyside Christian back in December of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Mabton Vikings took down the Sunnyside Christian Knights 76-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Mabton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Sunnyside Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tonasket at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tonasket knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mabton likes a good challenge. As for Sunnyside Christian, they will face off against Riverside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
