Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Vernon). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 75-43 blowout they got against the Pike Central Chargers. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meyer Robb continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2023. Nash Hostetter was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Mt. Vernon was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for Pike Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

Mt. Vernon will venture away from home to face off against Forest Park at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike Central, they will welcome Evansville Mater Dei at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
