Basketball Recap: Cooper Drops Season-High Score on Boles

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cooper). They blew past the Boles Hornets 88-48 on Friday. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Cooper's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jequan Brown, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. Brown has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Beachley Bills, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five steals.

Cooper smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Boles still got an impressive performance from Zion Mcfadden, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Mcfadden has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Williams, who posted nine points.

Cooper's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Boles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Cooper wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-29 win against Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy on the 7th. As for Boles, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-53 loss against Cumby on the 7th.
