When it comes to explaining why Apollo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jenna Dant. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Dant scored a full 59% of Apollo's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jennifer Lee was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Edmonson County was led to victory by Shelby Sowders and Kenadi Swihart. Sowders scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Swihart scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Julie Norris, who scored six points.
Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Edmonson County, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
