Sands has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Buena Vista Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sands beat Forsan 55-49.
Meanwhile, Buena Vista waltzed into Saturday's contest with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 67-16 at home. Buena Vista might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matchups by 37 points or more this season.
Buena Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Valdez led the charge by scoring 12 points. The match was Valdez's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Porras, who scored 11 points.
Sands' win lifted them to 3-3 while Forsan's defeat dropped them down to 2-4.
Sands came up short against Buena Vista in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 31-26. Can Sands avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
