The Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Covenant Classical Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Sheets Memorial Christian came up short against the Warriors and fell 54-44.
Despite the defeat, Sheets Memorial Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jude Howell scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Levi Ferguson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Covenant Classical's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy.
Sheets Memorial Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-15. As for Covenant Classical, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
Sheets Memorial Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. Does Sheets Memorial Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
