Softball Recap: Buckhorn Wins Going Away Against Lee

Buckhorn got themselves on the board against Lee on Tuesday, but Lee never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 16-0 win. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kendall Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cheniya Hatcher was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Audrey Rosenberry was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Buckhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .800. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive games.

Buckhorn's record is now 11-9. As for Lee, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckhorn will take on Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hazel Green at 4:30 p.m. on April 8.
