It was a good run, but the Millburn Millers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Star Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Millburn has scored all season.
Chase Plotkin and Zach Benmorits certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Plotkin scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Benmorits scored 16 points. Benmorits is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Redler, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Millburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Millburn's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for North Star Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Millburn will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Star Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Irvington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
