The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays will venture away from home to face off against the Penns Manor Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Conemaugh Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Penns Manor will be coming in after a loss.
Conemaugh Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt River Valley on Thursday. The Blue Jays blew past the Panthers 16-6. The Blue Jays not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2025 (when they won 11-1).
Nate Stiffler made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Kyron Fields was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Buchan, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Conemaugh Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Valley only managed seven.
Meanwhile, Penns Manor fell victim to Cambria Heights and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 14-0 to the Highlanders. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost six in a row.
Penns Manor's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Conemaugh Valley, their record now sits at 2-0.
Conemaugh Valley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Penns Manor by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Jays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
