Eureka is 2-8 against Del Norte since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eureka Loggers will look to defend their home court against the Del Norte Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Eureka has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Eureka pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of University Prep.
Eureka's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Estrada, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Julian Goodman who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Estrada continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmil Rippy, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Del Norte ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past McKinleyville 41-39. The victory was just what Del Norte needed coming off of a 62-42 loss in their prior matchup.
Eureka bumped their record down to 12-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Del Norte, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Eureka strolled past Del Norte in their previous matchup on January 4th by a score of 55-40. Does Eureka have another victory up their sleeve, or will Del Norte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
