Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Henry Gildehaus and Zeth Abelman Lead Mission Bay to Victory

There's no place like home for Mission Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Canyon Hills Rattlers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For the Buccaneers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Rattlers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-12, 25-14.

Leading Mission Bay to victory were Zeth Abelman and Henry Gildehaus. Abelman had 21 digs and six assists, while Gildehaus had six digs and four aces. Those six assists gave Abelman a new career-high. Gavin Ragusa also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Mission Bay has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Canyon Hills dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mission Bay is set to face off against their familiar foe High Tech SD at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Canyon Hills will take on rival Mira Mesa at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
