The Marietta Blue Devils were the 34-16 winner over the McEachern Indians when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Marietta fell just short of McEachern by a score of 17-14.
Marietta's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaylen Frazier, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown, and Russell Bey who gained 106 total yards and a touchdown.
McEachern found their leader in underclassman Jayreon Campbell, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.
Marietta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for McEachern, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Blue Devils will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. As for McEachern, they will head out on the road to face off against North Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Paulding will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
