The Borah Lions will challenge the Mountain View Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Borah fell victim to Middleton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Jack Meimann was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Borah saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Kubena, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Mountain View made sure to put some runs up on the board against Boise on Tuesday. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Brave with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Tate Baird looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tav Hiaring, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Schellhammer, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mountain View pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Borah, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Borah suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Mountain View in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
