T.R. Miller has gone a perfect 10-0 against Excel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigers will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, T.R. Miller turned things around against W.S. Neal on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Eagles.
The team relied heavily on Kate Rambach, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Anderson, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Excel duked it out with Monroe County on Monday. The Panthers never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Avery Duke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Alivia Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Meredith Lint, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.
Excel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .926. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
T.R. Miller's record now sits at 12-17. As for Excel, their record is now 8-10.
T.R. Miller beat Excel 4-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
