Los Alamos hasn't had much luck against Belen recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hilltoppers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Belen will be up against a hot Los Alamos team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 11. The Hilltoppers blew past Espanola Valley 15-5 on Saturday.

Malaya Haynes was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamie Cisneros, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kohynn Young was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four runs and two doubles.
Los Alamos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Belen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let Highland get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Honey Mirabal was incredible, firing off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorissa Scott, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Los Alamos pushed their record up to 16-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Belen, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Los Alamos suffered a grim 18-8 defeat to Belen in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will the Hilltoppers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
