South Central is 7-2 against Buckeye Central since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The South Central Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Buckeye Central Bucks at 7:30 p.m. South Central is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Saturday, South Central was beaten by Lucas 75-48.
Despite the defeat, South Central had strong showings from Trey Knoll, who scored 14 points, and Eric Sanders, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunner Ray, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Central was the victim of a tough 53-27 defeat at the hands of Colonel Crawford on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Buckeye Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Colonel Crawford is ranked 125th).
South Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Buckeye Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.
South Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Buckeye Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
